Third party evaluations rate Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) as one of the world’s top intelligence agencies. So it should not have come as a surprise that an Indian naval officer working for India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Pakistan’s south western Baluchistan province has been exposed. It can be assumed with certainty that this Indian — Kulbushan Yadav — cover name Patel and Hussain Mubarik — was carefully watched well before his arrest to discover his network and then was thoroughly interrogated after his arrest and before his activities were made public. India followed standard operating procedure by disowning their man and throwing him to the wolves as a retired person with no official credentials.
